Welcome to the website dedicated to the Data Visualizations of the LPHD (Lingüística Papirológica y Humanidades Digitales) project. It offers visualizations of linguistic variation, extracted from the orthographic "errors" commited by the scribes, that the TEI-XML edition in Papyri.info's collections annotates.
Currently, the LPHD project offers two main visualizations:
The Corpus search module allows you to browse the variants data by category and to obtained a refined subcorpus of its attestations, that can be filtered by:
the Original form written by the scribe,
the Regularized form annotated by the edition,
the Variant type we extracted from the automatized comparison between both strings of characters,
the Century as datation information we extracted from the metadata of the papyrus that contains the variant,
the Papyrus ID (in DDbDP's format and linked to its full description using its TM's [Trismegistos] ID ),
the Text Part, when applicable, and the Line references of the papyrus that contains the variant where it can be found,
the position in the word of the Syllable (initial - middle - final), as well as the Scope inside said syllable (onset - nucleus - coda) where the variant is found,
and, finally, the Search textual input (using Greek or Latin scripts) you may choose to query.
The Where are the variants? MAP module allows you to browse the spatio-temporal distribution for a selected category of variants.
You can find below an overview of the number of documents (individual papyri) which location and date were retrievable from their corresponding XML file(s).
